The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. was founded by the Japanese government in 1907 as a joint venture among two British firms (W.G. Armstrong and Vickers) and one Japanese company with a focus on production of military equipment.

After World War II, JSW transferred our sophisticated technologies and considerable experience to meet peacetime needs and branched out into new business fields such as materials and equipment for automobiles, electronics, shipbuilding and petrochemicals. We have concentrated over the last three decades on proprietary special steels and steel products, plastics and other industrial machinery. JSW’s HQ is located in Tokyo, Japan, with 4 plants and approximately 20 offices worldwide.

JSW established a local business office in 1969 to cover European business and enhance aftersales service. The office has mainly handled the steel products and plastics machinery.
To focus the plastics machinery business in European market, and to bring our customers and JSW close to each other, we opened the Extrusion Technical Center in Belgium in 2010.
We had carried out various trials using lab extruder with our customers.

In 2012, the office became a local subsidiary “Japan Steel Works Europe GmbH” to focus further enhancement of our service to European market.

In 2017, we relocated our Extrusion Technical Center into Dusseldorf, Germany to achieve more special trial such as reactive processing, devolatilizing and dewatering, and to improve accessibility of customers.

With new facility, we can provide the technical solution for your challenging such as the creating a new possibility of plastics products and improving the existing capability together with you.
